Friedrich Dilrrenmatt was born in Zurich and died in 1983. He was a Swiss dramatist and novelist, who wrote in German. His play "Die Blechtrommel" (The Tin Drum) was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1979, and he is regarded as one of the greatest playwrights of the 20th century. He won several other awards including Grand Prix du Théâtre de l'Académie française and the Prix Carne for his masterpiece "Mausoleum"
